Impact stories

Our donors make possible the incredible programs that touch thousands of Oklahomans each year. Read some of the stories of how we positively impacted these families, see our mission in action with a FREE Admission Pass to the Museum, or give a gift to make your own impact.

Meeting the needs of Oklahoma families

“For me it was a really beautiful example of a local organization stepping up to meet the needs of families.”

In March of 2020, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame team quickly pivoted to create engaging virtual content for Oklahoma families within just two weeks of the statewide COVID shutdown. “I remember vividly when the OHOF came out with virtual programming early on in the pandemic when we were home all of the time,” said Erin Page, parent of three and editor for MetroFamily Magazine. “For me it was a really beautiful example of a local organization stepping up to meet the needs of families.” And it wasn’t just Zoom sessions that were provided. OHOF staff  packaged up craft materials and allowed parents to pick up the packets for free, removing the barrier of not having the correct craft supplies at home. Page continued: “For me it took away some of my mom stress and mom guilt about providing engaging and meaningful educational opportunities for my kids.”

Completely FREE Family Fun

The Oklahoma Hall of Fame is proud to offer free family programming year round. That’s right, completely free! Children can participate in crafts, create artwork, enjoy story time, and have fun playing games all while learning about Oklahoma’s incredible people. We love hearing positive feedback from our repeat visitors: “We've been coming to Free Family Fun programs at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for about four years now because it is a free program to do together with our family. It's been a staple for our children. They have a blast pretending to be an astronaut, or a pilot, or even a cowboy! There are always fun things to do here.” Support from our donors allow us to continue offering and expanding upon these programs, creating lasting memories that families can enjoy.

A lasting impression on the next generation

"Mom, how do I get to be here one day?"

At the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, we believe that that there are no limits to what is possible. And the exhibits and programs we are able to offer thanks to our incredible donors, really do resonate with Oklahoma children. “We were upstairs one day looking at the pictures and the different stories of the people...” says Monica, a parent of a young boy who visits the Museum regularly. “My favorite thing I guess that he said was ‘Mom, how do I get to be here one day’, and I simply told him...if you do something with the most passion you can [and] that you love to do then maybe one day you’ll end up here as well.” We encourage children to dream big! And we hope to see Monica’s son on the Oklahoma Hall of Fame walls someday.
