In 1927, Anna B. Korn established a philosophy that would define a century of recognition in our state: we should not wait for a person to pass away to honor their contributions. We must "give flowers to the living."
Flowers for the Living explores the founding of the Oklahoma Memorial Association, known today as the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and its growth under Korn's strict, decades-long leadership. By examining her life—from her early years in Missouri to becoming the driving force behind Oklahoma's highest honor—we can also witness the ways in which the organization today has moved beyond its origins.
