Building Operations Coordinator
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manager of Building Operations, the Building Operations Coordinator assists with routine light maintenance of the Museum and janitorial duties, setting up and tearing down of chairs, tables, and other equipment for events held at the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, and other maintenance tasks as assigned by the Building Operations department. This position also executes shipping, receiving, and delivery of books for the Publishing department and other errands for the organization. Expected work schedule is approximately 20 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regular routine building maintenance and janitorial tasks.
- Parking lot and grounds inspection and clean-up.
- Shipping book orders, processing book order returns, and delivering book orders.
- Set-up and tear down of chairs, tables, and other equipment.
- Small construction projects and gallery repairs.
- Processing and tracking monthly invoices.
- Tracking and ordering supplies.
- Outdoor maintenance, trimming, and pruning.
- Interface with contractors and vendors as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- General knowledge of hand tools
- Basic Computers skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Must be comfortable ascending, descending, and working on ladders
- Dependable transportation
- Attention to details
- General knowledge of building systems a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; lift and/or move 50lbs repetitiously; frequently ascend and descend stairs and ladders; and kneel, creep, crouch and/or crawl.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee will work year-round in both an office environment and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud; situations characteristic to working with school-age children are common; and travel to other sites within the metropolitan area are possible.
